Introduction

We store food storage bags in a drawer in the kitchen. The boxes in which the bags come are flimsy cardboard and can be easily damaged in the drawer. To solve this little problem I designed a set of four boxes and made them out of wood. They are working well. This blog is about the design and some notes on building the boxes.

You may use the design and the accompanying spreadsheet for your own personal use. You may not use any of this material for commercial purposes.

The boxes were designed to fit in this drawer but you can make them fit in most drawers as long as the drawer is over 3" deep. Any less than that and there won't be enough space inside the boxes to put any bags. The spreadsheet will figure out many of the dimensions for you based on the thickness of the material you use and the depth of the drawer.
